WinSCP originally started as a SCP (secure copy) client, but later gained SFTP capabilities - and as of April 2007 it also support legacy FTP. Once installed WinSCP integrates fully with Windows - allowing you to transfer files directly from the context (rigth click) menu - or drag and drop files into the application windows.
WinSCP comes with two different layouts - one looks like the familiar windows explorer, while the other one is inspired by the old Norton Commander. The latter provides a parallel view of both the local and the remote directories, and has several advanced features such as directory comparison and synchronization.
It's integration with PuTTY enables it to share already defined connections with you favorite hosts. Other features include scripting support as well as a built-in text editor. WinSCP is available in several different languages. |
